To the Columbia Pre-Law Society,
I'm writing on behalf of Legal Outreach, a nonprofit in Long Island City, Queens, to see if members of the pre-law society would be interested in working with our organization. Legal Outreach is an educational nonprofit that works with high school students from under-served communities in New York City. By providing academic support services as well as meaningful exposure to law and the legal profession, we help students articulate and achieve their professional goals.
We are currently looking for volunteer tutors in the areas of math and science for our after-school program. We normally ask 12 hours a week for 38 weeks of our tutors, but as it is on a volunteer basis, we are open to other arrangements. Does this sound like something that pre-law society members would be interested in? We would like the tutors to start the week of September 20.
